Consistency: Prayer

“I remember my mother’s prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life.” – Abraham Lincoln

Can you imagine your children walking around holding onto all of the prayers you’ve spoken on their behalf?  I like that image!  Like a warm blanket comforting them. Unfortunately it is easy to become inconsistent in prayer for our children. We may often cry out in desperation, “Please Lord, let him go back to sleep!”, or in thanksgiving, “Thank you, Lord!”. But consistent day-to-day prayer for and with our children will reap a sweet harvest.

To help nurture consistency without feeling in a rut, I wanted to  link you up with some resources we shared with you last night.

In addition, I encourage you to use the prayer calendar that was handed out.  Try even praying the prayers aloud with your child at bedtime.
